Elijah has been investigating the impact of different deep geological repository (DGR) environments on damaged polymer coated carbon steel. The use of Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy has been employed in understanding the mechanism whereby corrosion occurs on damaged polymer coated carbon steel. This is important in shaping some decisions surrounding SMR designs.
