Dr. Banerjee is exploring various waste forms for Small Modular Reactors (SMR) for safe storage of active waste. Her expertise is in the encapsulation of waste forms to withstand degradation over a period of time. Dr. Banerjee has worked in a multidisciplinary arena in the frontier areas of high temperature chemistry, calorimetry, physico-chemical properties of materials besides a host of characterization techniques.
